Gosa Kerta

Kerta Gosa is a building (Bale) who is part of the complex buildings of  Semarapura Palace and has been built around the year 1686 the foundation stone of power and the first holder of the throne of the kingdom of Klungkung is Ida I Dewa Agung Jambe.

Kerta Gosa consists of two buildings (Bale) is Bale Kambang and Bale Akerta Gosa. Bale Kambang called because the building is surrounded by a pond in the garden of Gili. Uniqueness Kerta Gosa with Bale Kambang is on the surface of the ceiling is decorated with a bale of traditional Kamasan style painting (a village in Klungkung) or style of puppet that is very popular among the people of Bali.

At first, the paintings which decorate the ceiling of the building was made of cloth and Parba. New since 1930 is replaced and created on the plasterboard and then on-site restoration in accordance with the original picture and still intact today. As a cultural heritage Semarapura Palace, Kerta Gosa and Bale Kambang enabled to prosecute the case and a place where religious ceremonies are especially Yadnya cutting teeth (mepandes) for the children of kings.

Elephant Attraction

Student Arts Competition in Tampaksiring

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono invited the students and participants reserved for painting and poetry competitions from around the country, to continue to hone their talents, interests, and capabilities, particularly in the area reserved for painting and poetry. Invitation was conveyed in the preface to the Book Arts Notices Children Archipelago.

In addition, the President reiterated his hope that through this contest, arts talents of young generation in the country can continue to hone and grow, so that in time could develop into Indonesia’s great writers and artists. So, National Students Art Competition is not merely as a place of creativity and artistic creation, but also a means of nation character building.

Nation character development through the Student Art Competition Notices National Level, again emphasized the theme of this year. Reserved for Student Art Competition National Level which this year was held at the Presidential Palace Tampaksiring, Bali on July 26, 2010 themed ” Nation Character Building by Art and Culture ”.

Menbudpar Ir. Jero Wacik, S.E. stressed how important it is to build the nation character early on, starting from children, from elementary and junior high school student level. Wacik says Notices National Level Art Students Competition held every year before the Declaration of Independence anniversary, as a follow-up to realize the idea of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono when giving a speech in commemoration of National Children’s Day on July 23, 2006 at Taman Bunga Cipanas, West Java.

Hundreds Mass Helding a Demonstration at Polda Bali

Hundreds mass from Tabanan Bali, today staged a demonstration at Polda Bali (Bali Police Main Office). Demanded the mass ranks of the police thoroughly investigate the Bali Police suspected cases of corruption in the Tabanan regency which allegedly cost the state tens billions rupiah.

Hundreds of people from Tabanan Bali came with Balinese traditional clothes. They came to the Bali Police Headquarters with a few pieces of vehicles, complete with traditional gambelan bleganjur and dancers Joged Bumbung.

Because didn’t got permitted to enter Polda Bali court yard, hundreds mass staged a  demonstration not far from the Polda Bali  building.

In this demonstration, the mob demanded that the Bali Police thoroughly investigate serious allegations of corruption cases in the district of Tabanan. According to residents, several cases of alleged corruption were reported during this to law enforcement officials in Tabanan, do not get serious handling.

“The case of alleged corruption of the Regent of Tabanan, Adi Wiryatama, is to much and no one has seriously addressed. One of them was the alleged misuse of funds for the benefit bansos recent local elections and allegations of corruption international hospital development in Kediri which cost the state tens billions rupiah. UNWTO recommends Culture-Based Development

World Tourism Organization (UNWTO ) recommends to the local government of Bali to develop culture-based development. Especially the development of culture-based tourism. Especially during the Bali became one of the world tourist destination due to the uniqueness of art and culture owned.

This recommendation is submitted UNWTO is also related to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono plans to make Bali as a World Cultural Center.

Member of the UNWTO Gede Ardika said that Bali could become the cultural centers of the world so every aspect of
development in Bali should be based on culture and local wisdom which held the people of Bali. If need culture-based development  must be implemented
in the form of political policy.

“That is mean political decision made by Parliament with both local government and district-level  city” firmly Gde Ardika.
