Kerta Gosa is a building (Bale) who is part of the complex buildings of Semarapura Palace and has been built around the year 1686 the foundation stone of power and the first holder of the throne of the kingdom of Klungkung is Ida I Dewa Agung Jambe.
Kerta Gosa consists of two buildings (Bale) is Bale Kambang and Bale Akerta Gosa. Bale Kambang called because the building is surrounded by a pond in the garden of Gili. Uniqueness Kerta Gosa with Bale Kambang is on the surface of the ceiling is decorated with a bale of traditional Kamasan style painting (a village in Klungkung) or style of puppet that is very popular among the people of Bali.
At first, the paintings which decorate the ceiling of the building was made of cloth and Parba. New since 1930 is replaced and created on the plasterboard and then on-site restoration in accordance with the original picture and still intact today. As a cultural heritage Semarapura Palace, Kerta Gosa and Bale Kambang enabled to prosecute the case and a place where religious ceremonies are especially Yadnya cutting teeth (mepandes) for the children of kings.
